Useful windows utility

Friday, April 20th, 2007

I had a file that was indefinetly locked by a failed process. Just before I restarted, I found a utility by microsoft that is basically the task manager on steroids.  You can use it to determine which file or dll is locked by what process or user.

Salad sandwich at Karmas

Thursday, April 19th, 2007

Hey, not bad. Its kind of a vaguely greek salad in a pita with an interesting tiny salad that made me think of seaweed. It would qualify as pretty tasty. 6.50? Sure, if your in the mood.

This is Karma on 1575 Boulder street. Its small. Its a bit more of a coffee shop than a restaurant. Its in highlands not far from the pedestrian bridge over 25.

Browser Becomes Desktop is coming closer

Thursday, April 5th, 2007

The idea of the browser becoming the desktop is looming closer. A new site called peepel.com just launched with what is easily the cleanest and best interface incorporating documents, spreadsheets, and a calculator.

The layout and incorporation of both formats into the same consistent viewpane really raises the bar to something that is truly useable.

It really does beg the question of what will happen to the huge operating systems that seem to keep requiring hardware upgrades.

Check it out.
